Paris – Take Two

Models were everywhere when I arrived in Paris as well – one girl I spotted on the Metro en route to the Avenue Montaigne must have either just come directly from a show or have loved her runway look enough to keep it because she was somewhat of a fashion caricature, shuffling along in sky high platforms, skintight black leather leggings, a voluminous cocoon coat, all topped off with the Queen Elizabeth II headscarf look that has been a much commented upon runway trend this season.

The Dior Homme store on Rue Francois 1er was more of a rockstar hangout however, with several somewhat familiar faces milling around (although none so familiar that I could tell you their exact names!) and perusing the rails, looking for the latest addition to their rocker wardrobes. However, I didn’t find anything particularly interesting to buy and skipped out to my next appointment.

Alexandra Joly-Firino Martell, the impossibly chic designer of Bronzette, had already nabbed a table at the legendary Colette store’s water bar by the time I got there. Being Fashion Week, the place was even more mobbed than usual. I had said a quick hello to designer John Richmond upstairs and Alexandra was also sure she had seen Italian Vogue editor Franca Sozzani on her own way down to our meeting. Apart from discussing whom we’d spotted on the way over, we also chatted at length about her fabulous new swimwear collection for 2009, the trials and tribulations of life as a mom-trepreneur (mother and business woman) and her former career as a fashion show producer in New York City. Watch out for Alexandra’s gorgeous designs on CLICKINI.com for the next Spring/ Summer season.
